Opening up a new market in Japan's skies
|
Nippon Airship Corporation is a subsidiary of Tochiki Kisen Co., Ltd. who is a traditional shipping company founded in 1901 and our main stockholder. At present, Nippon Airship is Japan's only enterprise with approval for commercial flight activities involving airships. We employ qualified personnel who have previous experience with commercial enterprises related to airship operation in Japan and licensed pilots and maintenance personnel in accordance with the Aviation Act.
On June 12, 2004, Nippon Airship purchased a Zeppelin NT (New Technology), an airship newly developed by Zeppelin GmbH, and began Japanese domestic flight operations in the spring of 2005. For the time being, we are using the Honda Airport in Okegawa City, Saitama Prefecture as the base for our flight operations and cruising around Japan. We are active in a variety of fields, including sales promotion, advertising and PR, environmental study and surveying, aerial photography and television broadcasting. When preparations have been completed, we will also offer sightseeing flights.
In the future, we look forward to entering new markets such as air passenger cruises and cargo transport, using even larger airships.
